A Christmas Dream
I left Santa a note by the Christmas tree
And one by the fire that’s easier to see
Santa I hope you can read
Santa this is the list of the things that I need
Hope you’ve got everything
Thanks Eloise
Nanny stretches and yawns as she looks at the time
What are we doing up when we’re tired, tired, tired
Think what tomorrow will bring
Quickly hop into bed Eloise, not a peep
Let’s close our eyes and go to sleep
Soon I fell asleep in a Christmas dream
Steaming hot pudding with extra cream
Reindeers with sunglasses on
Dressed with mittens on antlers and mufflers from Mars
Reindeers skating on twinkling stars
Santa chuckled and said “Come on boys
Let’s dash off to The Plaza with Eloise’s toys
Always loved the hotel
‘specially sharing with Nanny a Christmas punch
Before heading back to the North Pole for lunch”
And when I awoke he had come and gone
Hoped he’d read my message and hadn’t got it wrong
Through the trees in the park
We could see all the reindeer as they made away
Including the tail light on Santa Claus’ sleigh
See all the reindeer as they made away
Including the tail light on Santa Claus’ sleigh
